The rediscovery of the Venetian glass after the decadence of the 18th century is due to Antonio Salviati.

In 1859 employing the best Murano’s glass makers and technicians, Salviati developed a new method of making mosaic with glass that became rapidly popular all over Europe.

He focused his production on collections of glasses, candle-holders, bowls and vases, engraved and decorated in gold.
The invention of the “aventurine glass” and the “opalino glass” are also due to Salviati and the school that he founded.
Today, Salviati remains one of the most exclusive exponents of glassmaking.
